Clive’s business acumen stems from 35 years as Managing Director and Business Owner for several businesses within the Manufacturing and Engineering sectors. Clive has successfully steered his Hydraulic, Components, Handling Systems and Property companies through 4 recessions, enabled business sales, investments and takeovers and sold machines into 36 countries worldwide. Clive has also evolved his customer portfolio, selling into in a wide range of sectors including Food, Medical, Nuclear, Paper and Pulp, Chemicals, Waste, Pharmaceutical, Ammunition, Livestock and Tobacco, to name just a few.

Clive still owns and manages Lodematic (Handling Systems) Ltd based in Clitheroe, Lancashire.

Clives specialisms focus on business management and strategy through financial planning and ensuring critical decisions are tackled, not avoided, which is often the case in many businesses.

Clive explains, “No business is perfect and you can very easily see what’s going on in the business, by simply looking at a Balance Sheet. Businesses hide from difficult decisions, often implicated by financial constraints as they don’t plan effective cash flow or contingency models.”

“I have managed, grown and sold businesses that have employed and strategically retired my own family members. Family businesses typically find it very difficult to seperate sensilbe business decisions from emotional family related pressures and with my experience, I can support family businesses to allow those key decisions and actions to be made.
